About This Event:
F45 Barrie South West is partnering with The Busby Centre to launch Sweat for Shelter, a full-day fundraising fitness challenge taking place Thursday, December 12, 2025. The event raises essential funds to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Barrie and South Georgian Bay.
This year’s initiative is led in part by community leader and Busby Ambassador Louise Jackson, who will complete five F45 classes in one day—at 6:00 a.m., 7:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. Jackson says her commitment reflects the dedication The Busby Centre shows every day in serving hundreds of people.
Join the Challenge
“Doing five classes is my way of showing up with purpose. The Busby Centre shows up every day for hundreds of people, and I want to match that spirit of dedication,” says Jackson. “Community rises when we rise together. Sweat for Shelter isn’t just a workout—it’s a statement of compassion, resilience, and belief in each other. I’m inviting everyone to push themselves and be part of something meaningful.”
Several F45 members have already pledged to complete three classes, and organizers anticipate a strong turnout for the challenge. The question for the community now becomes: Are you brave enough to take on five out of five?
Participants can join any class with a $20 drop-in fee, with 100% of proceeds supporting The Busby Centre. Attendees are also encouraged to bring essential items such as socks, gloves, winter hats, toiletries, and non-perishable food donations.
Mitch Scott, Owner of F45 Barrie South West, says the partnership reflects the studio’s commitment to strengthening the local community.
“F45 Barrie South West is committed to supporting the community that supports us. Sweat for Shelter brings people together for a meaningful cause, and we are proud to partner with The Busby Centre,” says Scott. “This event is about challenging ourselves while helping neighbours who rely on Busby’s vital services. We hope to see the community come out strong.”
The event aims to raise $3,500 in a single day. Through the Busby Centre’s year-end Double the Difference matching campaign, presented by Bertram Construction, every dollar raised will be matched, doubling the impact for people in need across the region.
